My first job on leaving college was working within a firm of Chartered Accountants. I then moved into industry, started and built my own business, sold it, retired for 15 minutes before getting bored, and then went on to mentor others in building great Success in their businesses. Many of my clients are professional firms – Solicitors and Accountants. Do you qualify?

You’ll need to satisfy two criteria – yes, only two!

  1. You’re the owner/partner (solely or jointly) or a Manager of your Solicitors Firm.
  2. You’ll need to be prepared to take action; this isn’t a theoretical exercise.

What do you have to do?

The way we go to work depends on you to a large extent. You can choose to work face-to-face, by tele-meetings or using online webcam – or a combination of any of these.

You choose what works best for your location and around your existing commitments and schedule. The idea is that this doesn’t ‘get in the way’; it enhances your Solicitors Firm.

I’ve found that clients typically fall into three categories:

  • You need lots of new ideas and strategies to implement them and really need a kick-start to get things moving fast (a Business Boost)
  • You want an ongoing mentor to bounce ideas off and offer guidance and focus as different things come up (Business Mentor)
  • You would like the team to be more enthusiastic, confident and proactive (more on this further down)

The Business Boost is usually a short intense project where we work together towards a specific outcome. There’s no ‘typical’ format, but it generally starts with a half day exploratory session to get focused on what you want and where you are now. You’re probably looking at about one day a month for four months – although this can be in full or half day blocks or a series of one hour meetings.

Ongoing Business Mentoring is open ended and can be an hour, two hours, half a day or a whole day each month, depending on your needs. Again a half day exploratory session is usually a good way to start to set out the playing field. A typical client (if there were such a thing) works with me for between four and eight hours a month.

Many clients use both these approaches concurrently with the Business Mentoring planning the strategy and putting the structure for success into place; whilst a Business Boost tackles a specific project that has a time scale to get the results needed.
